going to a celebration tonight, will hopefully have photos for tomorrow! here's some history:
"mardi gras is french for "fat tuesday" (in ethnic english tradition, shrove tuesday), referring to the practice of the last night of eating richer, fatty foods before the ritual fasting of the lenten season, which begins on ash wednesday."
so basically i'll be celebrating in excess even though i won't be taking anything away for lent. woo!

How was the celebration? I've never been to anything of the sort, as Mardi Gras is not even really thought of here in California.
