mortal kombat: rebirth greenlit for digital series

so, remember that awesome live-action trailer people thought was for a movie or just for fun?  here tis:

weell, it's about to become a full-fledged digital series backed by warner brothers.  shooting begins next month.  i'm excited to see if the series lives up to the hype surrounding the trailer (it's leaps and bounds better than any mortal kombat movie released in the past), but that might be a bit tricky.  shooting begins next month, so don't expect it to be out anytime soon.  get hyped even more, guyz.

The old mortal combat movies were so bad they were good. I fear these are gonna be the same quality, but not good... haha

the mk live-action films and series hasn't been the best. hopefully this will reboot the franchise and bring back the legacy that is mortal kombat.

I remember being disappointed as hell when that video first came out and they said it wasn't really a trailer for anything concrete. I really cannot wait for this to start airing.

I'm intrigued, but I feel like it might be a disappointment after one or two episodes.

Wait and see.

wow this is much better than seeing a 90min version of power rangers. The effects and the story of the original movies sucked hard.
following you btw =)

Oh man, hopefully it's just for fun because the mortal kombat movie series have been terrible

I was hopping this would bloom into a real movie, but I'll deal with a mini series. Hopefully WB will be able to make it shine and not over do the story like Fox did with Heroes.

shame that they killed Johnny Cage already and it hasn't even started. Maybe they'll bring him back in some completely unbelievable way like they did in the game.

I'm really excited for this. Love the re-imagining of it since really the story has always been a weak point when it has come to the Mortal Kombat series.
